Mr Cole - decking
This customer has a disabled son who is wheelchair bound and was finding it difficult to access the garden.
After measuring the turning circle needed for his motorised chair we came up with a small patio from the gate leading up a ramp onto the deck. The handrails were added for safety as well as given the appearance as a room extension when looking out from the lounge.
Mrs Stacey - water fall
This lady contacted us after she had had a new pond put in, but felt that it looked very flat with no focal point.
After viewing the area I built a dry stone waterfall using various shaped stones. We built this at one end of the pond amongst the shrubs and flowers to give it a natural feel and paying attention to the surface of the stones created, not only an eye catching structure, but it gave the pond a whole new outlook. The sound of running water through the reeds is very calming.
Mr & Mrs Williams - hedging
The clients on this job wanted to create a bit of privacy from passers by, but weren't allowed to construct a fence so close to the pavement.
Hedging was fine and so we used laurel as it is quite a fast grower and as it is also evergreen gives a nice dark green leaf colour all year round.
We put green coated chain link fencing behind the hedge to stop anyone or any animal getting through and causing damage whilst the hedging got it self established.
Mr & Mrs Weeks - patio and turf
These clients had just moved into a new house and were left with a huge mound of rubble, rubbish and soil in the back garden. As the boundary wall wasn't that tall they wanted an area for sitting in private.
We created an area with a lowered patio using a silver coloured slab. We contrasted the slabs with the same type of brick the house was built with and then leveled out the garden and turfed it. In the corner we laid a shed base with a gravel path to enable access to the fence panels.
Mr & Mrs Harris - fencing
This client had a diseased leylandii hedge around the edge of the garden that was over 9' tall casting a shadow over the flower border.
They wanted a robust fence that needed little up keep but it had to be strong as it was a very windy area and lower than the existing hedge.
The close boarded fence we erected was 6' 6" high and curved around the garden. The natural stained colour of the timber brightened up the garden and the solid rails give a great framework for climbers.
Mrs Hanratty - pergola
This client had a very dull corner of the garden with a couple of old shrubs in entangled with a huge grapevine.
She wanted to brighten the area outside her back door and to be able to get to the grapes for wine making.
After clearing out the unwanted shrubs we constructed a decking with a pergola over the top. We tidied up the vine and laid it over the pergola. Light now streams into the garden through the newly created clearing whilst the grapevine gives a little dappled shade over the new decked seating area.
